Establishment and Development of
The Museum for the Blind in Brno

On the Internet we discover that The Museum for the Blind in Brno is one of the projects of the United Organisation of the Blind and Visually Impaired. That is all we get in answer to the question of its origin. Is that intentional? Is it an oversight?

I rectify this matter in my booklet of 1996 in which I describe the circumstances under which the museum was established and its activities until this time. These circumstances are partly described in the booklet Four Brno Stoppages. This publication is supplemented with documentary pictures and information about how I acquired individual exhibits and about the activities of the museum during time I was in charge of it.

We have lately experienced a serious space shortage. The number of exhibits is increasing, but we can't enlarge the premises. We have to consider what to do next. A depository, which serves as an office at the same time is not sufficient. New acquisitions are stored only temporarily.
